Social Analytics Desktop is a free, independently maintained, non-professional Windows application for analysing authorised TikTok accounts. It keeps account histories separate and turns time-based metrics into readable comparisons.

What the application does
It records successive statistics for authorised publications, calculates transparent local indicators, and presents trends without claiming that a correlation is a cause or a guaranteed result.

Each TikTok account has its own authorisation, publications, snapshots, labels, baselines and analyses.

How TikTok access works
Social Analytics Desktop uses TikTok's official OAuth and API flow. It does not scrape TikTok.

You choose to connect
The system browser opens TikTok's authorisation page. The application uses PKCE and an anti-forgery state value.

TikTok asks for consent
You review the requested permissions and decide whether to grant them. A connected account can later be revoked without deleting its local history.

Authorised data is synchronised
The application requests only the identity, profile, account statistics and publication data supported by the granted scopes.

Analysis stays account-specific
Metrics from one account are never included in another account's medians, percentiles, trends or baselines.

Live TikTok OAuth and returned-data behaviour remain “To be revalidated on the first real TikTok flow” once the required credentials and scopes are approved.

Privacy in plain language
Local-first storage
Application data is stored in a local SQLite database. OAuth tokens and configured provider keys are stored in a Windows DPAPI-encrypted secret file.
No advertising or behavioural tracking
The application has no advertising, telemetry or analytics tracker. This website has no analytics, advertising scripts, tracking pixels or application cookies.
Optional AI is explicit
Optional AI analysis is never triggered merely by opening a screen. The user configures a provider, selects content, sees the outbound-data manifest and confirms the first transmission.
Limited AI payloads
AI requests exclude TikTok OAuth tokens, AI keys, other accounts and the complete local database. Selected content may leave the device only after the user initiates the feature.
Separate account controls
Revoking OAuth removes that account's connection credentials but preserves its local history. Deleting local history is a separate, explicit operation.
Original media stays intact
When local media is selected, the application may create controlled derivative images in its local cache. The original file is not modified.

Availability and limits
Social Analytics Desktop is provided free of charge as a non-professional project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by TikTok. TikTok is responsible for its own platform, approval process, APIs and service availability.
The application reports insufficient samples instead of presenting statistically weak groups as reliable conclusions. Its analytics are informational and do not promise reach, engagement, revenue or any other outcome.
Optional AI features currently support a deliberately restricted zero-cost configuration. Availability still depends on the external provider and must be rechecked at the time of each request.
